Fusion, re-situate, constraints of genre altogether - the mix from Giugno (Thomas Carney) is an oeuvre in progressive space of sonic possibilities. Morphing into a pastiche could be found between the low ebbs and oscillating din as an exemplary of repeating numerous mental arenas and defeat. Giugno takes a contextural approach of pairing diverse rhythms of myriad functional movements. At the same instant, it allows the listener to let their imagination go bush through guardedly emotional airborne and quivering vistas. Giving a bright tone throughout - Giugno’s most recent full-length album 'Every Morning, Again' was released on Eastern Nurseries label in March 12 of 2021.
The immense soundscapes of Arkhad cannot be mistaken for those of another artist's - each work seems to be completely unrestrained, yet an over-arching sense of structure, a feeling of a looming megalithic presence haunts throughout. The rhythms are irregular and strange, yet palpable. The droning calls and textures appear inorganic, yet certainly feel natural; as if rising from beneath the living earth, from beneath deep layers of stone. Such depths are thoroughly explored in the 18th Amulet of Tears mix.

The work of sound artist Ryan Hill from Illinois, USA is better revealed through poetry and imagery rather than verbose descriptions. KAGAMI Smile is his most recent active project, already considerable in its vast output of releases across labels such as Søvn Records and Opal Tapes. His own record label Forgot Imprint, much as his personal production, exhibits digital relics, lost dreams and the innate nostalgic emptiness of the 21st century.

The air above a cityscape is never still. At sundown, the seeming emptiness envelops one in melancholy; as the night goes on, all the neon lights, looming structures and dancing smoke silhouettes come along to keep the company. The urban soundtrack put together by Alethe is a reflection of both the cold and the welcoming, the abrasive and the melodic, all of which makes apparent the dualistic allure of the city. The Russian artist's music has been released on tape labels such as Audio. Visuals. Atmosphere., Holy Geometry and Strange Rules. Alethe's mix for Amulet of Tears contains many of his recently favoured works and inspirations.

The compositions of Evitceles do not shy away from tonal experimentations, unique forms of songwriting as well as different uses of rhythm and style; listening to his work feels much like a slow walk through a gallery of impressionistic paintings.
Ardor is the brilliant collaborative effort of Canadian sound artists B.P. and Body of Intrigue. As a duo, the two have recorded and released joint works on the Male Activity label, previously ran by B.P.; as Ardor, they continue to foster a sonic garden of flowers seemingly blooming and withering over and over, with a scarce piece of everyday meditation occurring in between each cycle. The mix for Amulet of Tears includes only original works, either recorded individually by each of the two, or created together.
Porto-based musician Rui P. Andrade, under the title of Canadian Rifles, transmits a palette of sounds that seems familiarly acquainted with the approaching cold in the Northern Hemisphere. The artist's work includes running the label Eastern Nurseries, a duo project HRNS alongside FARWARMTH, several EPs on the aforementioned label and a full-length album titled "Atoll" released through Audio Visuals Atmosphere in 2019.
Extending from a rough, metallic shell, the mix by Jonathan Bergen (under the name of Amethyst) grows into a dazzling torrent of noise, drone and song. Ever-changing and layered, the hour-long sonic cascade resembles a rebirth, an experience of being mangled and reshaped, being forced to confront the full spectrum of emotion and to face its totality. Amethyst, the musical project, has been active since 2017, delivering several cassette releases on the experimental-ambient circuit, much of the music fusing organic samples with inanimate, heavy forces of noise. As a result, the music of Amethyst is unique in its synthesis of intensity and vulnerability.
Personal experiences, uplifting hopes, meditative fantasies and harsh realities are all carried in the third Amulet by Anasisana. A visual artist as well as a musician under several different aliases (Buried Alive, Nonchalant, Perfect Stranger), the Tunisian creator blends emotional slowcore songs, hypnotizing melodies and more abrasive experimental rhythms to breathe new air into the accustomed field of ambient music. His most recent release, a cassette titled "Perfect Stranger", was released by Trust Collective in September of 2020. In the work of Anasisana, thoughtfulness and subtlety shine a bright, yet melancholic light.
A companion and a friend, Undveld guides through a path of piercing heights and desolate, barren plains. Every peak of emotional distortion seems physical, each pulled string heartfelt and raw. The young Lithuanian artist has amassed an extensive discography of experimental electronic work released on offworldcolonies, Perfect Aesthetics, static motion including others, his talent in production marked by deeply sensitive compositions and dynamic structures. It is safe to assume that there is much discovery to be made on the artistic and personal journey with Undveld.
The first Amulet unravels with a piano chord, a flurry of distant voices and a familiar dusty hiss. With a body of work equally cinematic and sonically vivid, Japanese composer yolabmi has already set a considerable musical footprint with a string of albums released on VAAGNER, Casement Exchange, Perfect Aesthetics and other initiatives. Each segment and soundscape by yolabmi appears to be a dream-like vision where intimate atmospheres, alluring melodies and unexplored experiments intertwine. The following adventure seems to lead through many different lands.
